Sweet, gooey Caramel Apple Pie Bombs bursting with warm apple filling and caramel — a quick, cozy dessert you’ll crave again and again!
Ingredients
- 1 can (8-count) refrigerated biscuit dough or crescent dough
- 1 cup apple pie filling (homemade or canned)
- 8 soft caramel candies (or caramel baking squares)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat & Prep
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C), or preheat your air fryer to 350°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
Step 2: Flatten the Dough
- Separate the biscuit dough and flatten each piece into a 4-inch round.
Step 3: Fill the Bombs
- Place a spoonful of apple pie filling and one caramel candy in the center of each round. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
Step 4: Seal the Bombs
- Gather the edges of the dough around the filling and pinch tightly to seal. Roll gently into a ball shape.
Step 5: Bake or Air-Fry
- Place sealed side down on the baking sheet or in the air fryer basket.
- Bake for 13–16 minutes or until golden brown.
- Air-fry for 8–10 minutes, until crispy and golden.
Step 6: Coat in Cinnamon Sugar
- Brush warm bombs with melted butter and roll in granulated sugar.
Step 7: Serve
- Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar, drizzled with caramel sauce, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- Seal them tightly — this keeps the gooey filling inside.
- Use soft caramels — they melt perfectly.
- Warm your filling slightly for easier sealing and quicker baking.
