Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (or use pre-made biscuit dough)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
For the Filling:
- 8 oz mozzarella cheese (cut into cubes)
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese (optional, for extra cheesiness)
For the Garlic Butter Topping:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Optional Garnish:
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Red pepper flakes (for a spicy kick)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add warm milk and melted butter, then mix until the dough starts coming together.
- Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes until slightly puffy.
(Shortcut: If using pre-made biscuit dough, skip this step and move to filling the dough!)
Step 2: Stuff the Dough with Cheese
- Divide the dough into small portions (about golf ball-sized pieces).
- Flatten each piece and place a cube of mozzarella cheese in the center.
- Wrap the dough around the cheese, sealing it completely to prevent leakage.
- Place seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 3: Bake the Bombs
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush each dough ball with melted garlic butter.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Step 4: Brush with More Garlic Butter
- Once baked, immediately brush with more garlic butter for extra flavor.
- Sprinkle fresh parsley, Parmesan cheese, or red pepper flakes if desired.
Step 5: Serve & Enjoy!
- Serve warm and enjoy the irresistible cheesy goodness!
Notes
- Use high-moisture mozzarella for a stretchier cheese pull.
- Seal the dough well to prevent cheese from leaking out while baking.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes in the garlic butter for a slight kick.
- Serve with marinara sauce or ranch for dipping!
