Juicy cowboy butter steak sliders made in under 30 minutes! Bold, buttery, and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

For the Steak:

    • 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak

    • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper

    • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Cowboy Butter:

    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

    • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced

    • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

    • 1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley

    • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

    • Juice of 1/2 lemon

    • 1/2 tsp paprika

    • 1/2 tsp black pepper

    • Pinch of salt

For the Sliders:

    • 8 slider buns or small brioche rolls

    • 4 slices provolone or cheddar cheese (halved)

    • Optional: sliced pickles, caramelized onions, or arugula

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Cowboy Butter

  • In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, garlic, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, parsley, red pepper flakes, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Steak

  • Season steak generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook steak 3–4 minutes per side (for medium rare), then let it rest 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.

Step 3: Toast the Buns

  • Brush the insides of the slider buns lightly with cowboy butter. Toast in a pan or oven until golden and slightly crisp.

Step 4: Build the Sliders

  • Layer each bun bottom with a slice of cheese, followed by a few slices of steak.
  • Drizzle with cowboy butter.
  • Add optional toppings like onions or pickles.
  • Close with the top bun and give each one a final cowboy butter brush.

Step 5: Serve and Impress

  • Serve warm with extra cowboy

Notes

  • Go smoky: Use smoked paprika or chipotle powder for added depth.
  • Cheese swap: Pepper jack brings a spicy twist.
  • Make it mini: Use Hawaiian rolls for bite-sized party sliders.
  • Grill it: Grill your steak and buns for an extra layer of smokiness.
