Juicy cowboy butter steak sliders made in under 30 minutes! Bold, buttery, and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
For the Steak:
- 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
For the Cowboy Butter:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Pinch of salt
For the Sliders:
- 8 slider buns or small brioche rolls
- 4 slices provolone or cheddar cheese (halved)
- Optional: sliced pickles, caramelized onions, or arugula
Instructions
Step 1: Make the Cowboy Butter
- In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, garlic, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, parsley, red pepper flakes, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Steak
- Season steak generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook steak 3–4 minutes per side (for medium rare), then let it rest 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
Step 3: Toast the Buns
- Brush the insides of the slider buns lightly with cowboy butter. Toast in a pan or oven until golden and slightly crisp.
Step 4: Build the Sliders
- Layer each bun bottom with a slice of cheese, followed by a few slices of steak.
- Drizzle with cowboy butter.
- Add optional toppings like onions or pickles.
- Close with the top bun and give each one a final cowboy butter brush.
Step 5: Serve and Impress
- Serve warm with extra cowboy
