Description

This Parmesan Focaccia Bread is everything you want in a homemade bread—crispy, fluffy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. It’s simple to make yet incredibly delicious, making it a great addition to any meal.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil

For Toppings:

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let sit for 5-10 minutes, until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing coliseum, combine flour and swab. Pour in the incentive admixture and olive oil painting.
  3. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

Step 2: First Rise

  1. Place the dough in a greased coliseum, cover with a damp kerchief, and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Step 3: Shape the Focaccia

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and press the dough evenly into the pan.
  3. Use your fingers to create small dimples across the surface of the dough.

Step 4: Add Toppings

  1. Brush the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with Parmesan, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.

Step 5: Bake

  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy on top.
  2. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use High-Quality Parmesan – Freshly grated Parmesan adds the best flavor.
  • Don’t Skip the Dimples – This helps hold the olive oil and toppings in place.
  • For Extra Crispiness – Bake an extra 5 minutes for a crunchier crust.
  • Experiment with Flavors – Try adding rosemary, thyme, or chili flakes for variety.
  • Use a Pizza Stone – For an even crispier bottom crust, bake the focaccia on a preheated pizza stone.
